Situated in Cape Town’s CBD, Inner City Ideas Cartel, otherwise known as IC|IC, is a space that reinvents the traditional office into a vibrant and inspiring environment that’s filled with freelancers and small businesses. Here every detail – from the call booths to desks to networking nodes – are designed to enhance productivity and output.

Jacob was given the task to bring an urban feel to this contemporary workspace. Like a Gentleman’s club with a 21st century twist that features an old leather Chesterfield sofa, paired with bookcases, a Nguni cowhide, proteas and architectural inspired furniture. In the lounge area the call was made to bring in a green couch to illicit a feeling of calm.

To alleviate the clinical, impersonal feel of the walls, Jacob added rich, deeper colors and industrial looking incandescent lights.
